Dr. Thomas Lindenfeld has been invited to provide several presentations at the Sports Section of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Annual Meeting on December 5 and 6, 2008, in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Dr. Lindenfeld’s presentations include: Strengthening Following Rotator Cuff Repair, and Diagnosis and Treatment Approaches for Traumatic vs. Atraumatic Shoulder Instability.

Dr. Lindenfeld, a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and other orthopaedic problems, is from St. Joseph, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan for both undergraduate and medical school. At the University of Louisville, Dr. Lindenfeld completed his first two years of residency in general surgery. He then went on to complete his orthopaedic residency at the University of Iowa where he also completed his fellowships for both sports medicine and hand surgery.


Founded in 1973, the Sports Physical Therapy Section (SPTS) is a component member of the American Physical Therapy Association, which provides a common forum for members of the Association with an interest in sports physical therapy. More than 300 people are expected to attend this year’s meeting.

Four physicians at Cincinnati SportsMedicine & Orthopaedic Center (CSMOC) are featured in the August issue of Cincy Magazine as being the Best in Greater Cincinnati. Sportsmetrics was featured in this national news magazine’s health section “News You Can Use”. Doctors are just beginning to understand why female athletes are at a higher risk of knee injury than male athletes are. While there are possible contributing factors which women can’t control, scientists are learning there is one area, which they can control, muscle strength and landing technique. Through their special training program called Sportsmetrics, Dr. Frank Noyes and colleagues at Cincinnati Sportsmedicine are helping women athletes reduce their knee-injury rate.
