Dr. Noyes’ Meniscus Transplant Orthopaedic Textbook Chapter Selected as One of the “Best of Sports Medicine”

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) recently released an orthopaedic textbook, “Instructional Course Lectures: The Best of Sports Medicine”. This textbook features a collection of 42 of the most popular sports medicine lectures presented at the Academy’s Annual Meeting over the past 5 years. Published cooperatively with the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine; this textbook focuses on the most important topics that currently face sports medicine clinicians. One of the chapters selected was written by Dr. Frank Noyes and Sue Barber-Westin: “Meniscus transplantation: Indications, techniques, clinical outcomes”. This chapter was originally published in the AAOS Instructional Course Lectures 2005 volume. Dr. Noyes is nationally renowned as a pioneer in meniscus transplantation. The chapter reflects his 15-year experience with this operation and the clinical outcome of over 100 patients treated at the Noyes Knee Center. Read Abstract:
